Ministry: Russia’s gold output rises 5.9% to 122.3 tns in Jan–Jun

MOSCOW, Oct 4 (PRIME) -- Russian gold output increased 5.93% on the year to 122.3 tonnes in January–June, the Finance Ministry said in a statement on Wednesday citing data on supplies to gold refineries.

Mined gold output rose 5.48% to 96.3 tonnes in the period, while by-product gold output increased 15.07% to 8.4 tonnes, and gold scrap production grew 2.92% to 17.6 tonnes.

Russia’s silver output fell 1.99% to 483.7 tonnes. Primary silver production went down 11.28% to 219.5 tonnes, while by-product silver output rose 22.37% to 166.3 tonnes, and production of silver scrap decreased 11.16% to 97.9 tonnes.
